Law Clerk

For two years, Elizabeth has zealously advocated for clients as a law clerk in small and solo-firm settings that variously dealt with landlord-tenant law, employment law and business litigation.

She has drafted numerous types of memoranda, pleadings, and motions, and even a few discovery requests. Most of her legal documents have been either filed with court or used in mediation or negotiation contexts, making her legal writing experience truly real-world experience.

Elizabeth's proficiency in technology means the documents she produces are delivered according to local court specifications without need for secretarial formatting.

Legal Researcher

Over the last three years that Elizabeth has been researching legal issues, she has become adept with a variety of legal search tools including Westlaw (including WestlawNext), Lexis, LoisLaw, HeinOnline, as well as numerous other federal, state, and local search tools.

Elizabeth excels at using the Internet and all sources available to her in the aid of her legal research, whether she is investigating the opposing party, the subject matter of the litigation, or the discrete legal issue at hand.

Where most legal researchers might only understand the law, Elizabeth also understands the nuances of language and principles of graphic design. She leverages this knowledge to produce legal research that is not only accurate, but also relevant and accessible.

Editor

Elizabeth is a meticulous (some say compulsive) editor and grammarian.

Her love affair with editing started when she began editing her older brother's school work and her father's work when she was still in elementary school. Her love grew as she professionally (but often informally) edited at nearly ever job she held since the age of eighteen, with her colleagues and superiors consistently seeking Elizabeth's input into their writing.

Having edited college papers on literature, drama, and history; resumes for retail managers, social workers, and engineers; reports, memoranda, and presentations for environmental scientists; and countless business correspondence throughout the years, Elizabeth has garnered a wealth and breadth of editing experience.
